They feel helpless and frustrated because they can't afford putting Yeshi in the same school as her brother and sister, which preserves their language and culture. Several times Yeshi mentioned she wished to be in the same school as her brother and sister. So, our TipTop project got a new turn.
Some extra information:
You can donate to Yeshi, once or on regular base. The total cost per year is 800 Euro. (This includes all school fees, accommodation, food, clothing, books and medical costs.)
She has 10 more years of schooling. We hope to raise this money and opened a bank account for Yeshi to pay her tuition yearly. A Dutch sponsor donated 800 euro for the first year, a great start! So 9 more years to go. All donators will receive email about the amount raised, tuition paid and the yearly balance.
If you are not in the position to support financially you can help by spreading the word or sharing this on your facebook wall.
For any questions or your feedback please email us on firstname.lastname@example.org, if you like to speak to us in person we can give you our mobile number. We love to hear from you!
Who is Yeshi?
Yeshi is a courageous Tibetan girl with a big heart. She enjoys helping others. Doing dishes every day, washing clothes, helping in Tiptop.... everything she does is carried out with dedication. Eager for knowledge with a fast-learning mind, she seems to be an ambitious girl. She loves to dance and surprise others with funny faces. What she wants to do when she grows up...? Yeshi: "I wanna be a teacher in school. Or maybe I wanna be a singer who can dance as well, so I can dance for everybody!"
What's the difference between donating to yeshi and an official organization?
The biggest question with charity is how much of our donation actually reaches its goal, and how much is being lost with administration, salaries and promotion? We are not an official charity organization. We have funded 90% of Tiptop project ourselves and raised donations for 10%. Our path crossed Yeshi's father and we decided to help them on the spot. We have no intention of making a living from this project or gain anything else except a good feeling. While helping, people who met us got enthusiast and said they wanted to contribute. That gave us the idea to spread the story and give others an opportunity to be part of this project.
You can transfer directly to a bank account specially opened for Yeshi. We have investigated several methods of collecting money and in all cases a minimum of 3.5 % plus other costs (from eg. creditcard companies) will be deducted, resulting in a loss of 7-9 % per donation. In order to be able to guarantee that 100% of your donation will be used for Yeshi's tuition only, we decided not to put any other organization in between and open a private bank account for her.
You can transfer donations to :
Copies of bank statements are available on request to anyone making a donation.
How do I know my donation is actually helping Yeshi? Will I receive mail from Yeshi or updates if I donate?
Yeshi's family is living in a remote area in the Himalaya where post is not a usual thing. It is not a part of their culture for children to send drawings or letters. You may send them mail and if you do so it is appreciated but they wait for a tourist to pass by to translate it for them as they can barely read. As far as we know, Gyalbu (Yeshi's father) never wrote a letter in his life. After visiting them twice we do not know when our next visit to Nepal will be. Therefor there will be no regular online newsletter. Gyalbu has no phone but sometimes calls us from a satellite phone. If we get news by phone, we post it on the Tiptop project facebook page. If you donate you will receive a personal confirmation from us, and occasional updates about the amount raised and the yearly balance.
If by any chance donations will be left over -after covering Yeshi's schoolfee- we will sponsor another child from her village Mundu. There are many more children who can't go to school.
